PodShanking
by Josh Rubin
How many times have you wanted to just transfer music directly from one iPod to another?
Modgods has described a simple way to do it with minimum software and hardware required. They even named it: PodShanking. Their answer requires patience (the transfer happens by playing the song in real time), but it works.
Punk MC
by Josh Spear
The World Chico is an online store stocked full of some really good independent clothing design. The UK based shop recently launched a new T-Shirt line called Punk MC--and the designs are all pretty fresh. This shirt is a design called Airport '77, with some intricate and witty illustrations. The Punk MC line isn't all that's hot though, definitely take a peak at their other labels.
Soel: Memento
by Ari Bendersky
Bringing together elements of his African roots, Parisian upbringing and American musical influences, trumpeter Pascal Ohse, a.k.a. Soel, created a brilliant collection of music bridging jazz, 70s funky soul and R&B and ambient electronic music. Imagine the JB Horns smashed up with Miles Davis, Barry White and Brian Eno.
The recently released Memento was produced by longtime collaborator Ludovic Navarre, otherwise known as groundbreaking DJ St. Germain, at his home outside Paris. Soel employs music from various points in his life, including world, spoken word grooves and samples by the Last Poets, the controversial pre-hip hop collective from the early 70s. Top that off with some politically inspired diva vocals and you have a batch of songs that will make you want to blow off work and spend the day in bed naked with your lover.
Outdoor Terrier
by Josh Rubin
Our friends over Coolestshop have a slew of new Outdoor Terrier stuff. The Camp Fire T is pretty campy, and the terrier silhouette is a perfect touch.
For those of you who may not already know, I'm terrier obsessed. Particularly with our unofficial mascots, Otis and Logan.
