EarLove: Practice Safe Sound

by Ari Bendersky

earlove2.jpgThere’s nothing worse than leaving a concert or a night out clubbing and your ears ring so much it’s like the bass and drums left with you.

The high decibel levels cause physical damage to your ear drums – and too much exposure can lead to permanent hearing loss. With EarLove, a professional-grade earplug, you can reduce damaging sound levels and still hear the music crystal clear.

Did you notice the fantastical treatment to the images in the new nopattern.com.

Titanium + Silicone

by Josh Rubin

Heltzer Ti Detail
You're looking at the small cushions on a new series of outdoor furniture by Heltzer. Each cushion is an air pocket topped with a layer of silicone. While you might expect it to feel like Pam Anderson's bosom, sitting on this stuff is actually quite comfortable. The air pressure is adjustable which effects the contour of the seating surface and each silicone unit molds more gently to you. The Ti Collection is a bench, chair and ottoman, each sporting a titanium frame, making them strong and light. More pictures after the jump.

Metamorphosis Show

by Carol T Chung

Parsons-Metamorphosis

Last week was the opening of the Metamorphosis Illustration show at Parsons School of Design for both MFA and BFA graduates. The show ends this Friday, so if you're looking for fresh illustration meat I'd suggest you head on over there before the week is out. The show is in two galleries here in NYC-- 2 W. 13th St. and 66th 5th Ave.

Shown here is just a sample to wet your whistle. (Left: James Wight and Right: Ryoko Hotani)

For the Love of Beans

by Ari Bendersky

I just got back from Costa Rica and, among so many other wonderful things about this friendly country, I fell in love with the coffee. If you think you can’t live without your daily Starbucks, you’ll about lose yourself in the incredible aromas and rich flavor of Costa Rican beans. Best of all, the coffee is never bitter, unlike at our aforementioned U.S. monopoly.
