Tissue Ring by Ari Bendersky

tissue_ring.jpgApartment Therapy, I had to see what other great designs Vessel thought up.

And whaddaya know – they shocked the hell out of me with simplicity. The Tissue Ring, a stainless steel hoop that lies atop a stack of Kleenex eliminating the need for a tacky box or a generic package with flowers or angels on it.

The first time I placed it on my stack, I was dubious: would the next tissue actually pop up? You know what? It did.

Off The Wall
Technologically speaking, the "On/Off Switch" by Tobias Wong may not be as advanced as its kitschy precursor The Clapper, but it's surely a hell of a lot classier. Wong has emancipated the familiar lightswitch from its predictable position on the wall, encased it in lucite and placed it literally in the palm of your hand. Essentially a remote control for home lighting, this wireless...
City Kitty
I don't have a cat and probably never will, but if I did a CitiKitty mine would be. Invented by Rebecca Rescate and her husband when they moved in to a small NYC apartment, the training starts as a litter box placed on the toilet seat. Over time you remove the inner rings, reducing the amount of litter used and teaching the cat to...
Power Strip Liberator
On a regular basis I profess the definition of design to be an exercise in problem solving. The Power Strip Liberator is a perfect example of what I consider great design. It's a one foot long extension cord that bridges your power strip to the bulky plug so that none of the outlets are blocked. Of course solving this problem creates yet another one--...
