Have a Green Day by Ari Bendersky

AmIdiot_ari.jpgThey’re being credited for saving rock, have seven Grammy nods under their belt for “American Idiot” and may surprise many at this year’s ceremony. And now they’re going on tour.

Is this a great time for Green Day fans or what?

Pre-sale for the now-grown-up Berkeley punks’ U.S. shows become available this Friday at the band’s website. They’re currently on tour in the UK and will head to Australia and Japan next.

If for some reason you haven’t heard Green Day’s amazing, more mature album, check it out here. Even if you weren’t a fan of "Dookie" or “Nimrod,” you still might fall in love with this batch of songs. Be sure to listen to “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”

Phoenix Rising
It’s funny when people who like music, but aren’t necessarily totally into music, inform me about a new band. I don’t really remember liking the Bees music in the past, but the first time I put on Free the Bees, something was different. I was immediately drawn in to their...
Cut Copy -- Let's Try it Again
Here’s a case of maybe needing to listen to a CD more than a few times before making a solid judgment call. Or maybe actually believing other music lovers and giving a CD another shot when you’ve written it off yourself. Such is the case with Cut Copy’s Bright Like Neon Love. While listening to iTunes on shuffle the other day, I found myself...
Live: Kaiser Chiefs and The Changes in Chicago
Last Thursday night, Kaiser Chiefs visited Chicago and I have to say, it was sad to see them go. The band stormed the stage at the Double Door, thundered through its hour-long set and left almost as quickly as they arrived. When I got Kaiser Chiefs’ CD a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure if I was going to write about them (don’t get...
