Capacitor Design Network by Josh Spear
Capacitor Design Network has done some seriously impressive work. They're responsible for designs for folks like Burton Snowboards, Om Records, Disney, Coca Cola, oh, and did I mention they designed the Microsoft X-Box logo with Portland based Cinco Design. They get my most under rated designers of the week nod. Killer stuff capacitor, keep it up.

Shephard Fairey Obama Commemorative Plates
Poster boy Shephard Fairey really hit the big time when his Obama print was picked up by the Obama Presidential Campaign last year. Having subsequently designed the official Inaugural Poster for Obama, he looks well positioned to become the go-to guy for reshaping how we visualize the White House. If posters aren't your thing, take comfort in knowing that Fairey has also dipped his feet...

Bible Illuminated: The Book New Testament
No matter your religious beliefs, one thing we can probably all agree on is how laborious it is to read the Bible. A Swedish outfit called Illuminated World hopes to change that notion by creating Bible Illuminated, a relevant version of the historical book. Set in magazine format, the New Testament publication includes the same time-honored stories paired with photos that conceptualize how they...

We love the Tielen Perpetual Calendar for its simple design and, well, perpetual usefulness. Apparently some folks in Sweden liked it too recently awarding the prototype a European Design Award last week in Stockholm. Graphic designer Sander Tielen used the versatility of the digital numeral "8," creating different colored cards that slide in behind a black front to display the date with an appealingly...

Design Police: Visual Enforcement Kit
Like those little stickies that say "Sign Here," the witty Visual Enforcement Kit points out (with excruciating detail) what needs attention, in this case in the world of 2D design. For anyone who's faced more than their share of design that needs help, the downloadable pdfs provide handy pre-printed critiques like, "Severe lack of creativity" and "Kern this!" We particularly like "Hire a copywriter"...
