Brazilian Girls Do it Better by Ari Bendersky

BrazilianGirls.jpgBrazilian Girls are turning the dance music world on its head.

Fronted by the sultry Sabina Scuibba, Brazilian Girls sounds like Shirley Bassey, Grace Jones and Los Amigos Invisibles at an outdoor reggae fest. While their name suggests Rio, the group actually hails from Brooklyn. Scuibba, born in Italy and raised in Nice and Munich, moved to New York, met the three guys in Brazilian Girls and the foursome took the downtown scene at Nublu by storm.

Their self-titled debut on Verve Records hit streets on Feb. 1 and they’re on tour now.

Check out samples of all their tracks.

Harlem Shakes: Technicolor Health
If one were to throw a rock in the western part of Brooklyn, it'd likely hit the supporting member of some transplanted indie rock band. With everyone and their mother's band relocating to the borough, it presents a problem for a five-piece, guitar-driven rock band like Harlem Shakes to rise above the fray. They may get their chance with "Technicolor Health", the band's debut...
TVOTR Dear Science Poster Giveaway
Since its recent release, we've had the new TV on The Radio album Dear Science on repeat at CH Headquarters. You'd think that between putting out the new album and flexing his thespian muscles in Rachel Getting Married, TV's own Tunde Adebimpe would have little time for anything else.
