Get Yer Dusty Groove On
by Ari Bendersky
Dusty Groove.
This is the place to turn to for hard-to-find, one-of-a-kind recordings that places like Tower and Virgin never carry. The one problem is that you generally cant preview tracks, but each CD or LP has a great description and review so youre not going into your purchase entirely blind. This site is great for DJs and total music heads.
Thrift Deluxe
by Josh Spear
Thrift Deluxe is a contemporary and non-commercial DIY online resource that provides simple directions for inexpensive projects to make your own lamps, vases, bowls, belts, and more. I wish they had more projects, but a few of the ones they do have are very good. They've got a little key ranking projects by cost, time, and difficulty.
Intoto NYC
by Josh Spear
It was a pleasure to look through intoto's line of innovative and creatively designed products. A NYC based husband and wife team working under the philosophy that "everything communicates". They do furniture, accessories, dinnerware, and have a strong background in graphic design. Joe Doucet, the designer, has done illustrations for Samsung, and worked on the Olympic campaign, among other things. The products are all very cutting edge and simple, reversible dinnerware, coffee tables with built in ceramic vases and products like Spore, as seen here. It's a ceramic vase inspired by watching a film on microscopic photography.
