Kidrobot x Nike x Barneys by Josh Rubin

Nike Kidrobot Barneys
Just when I start to become the slightest bit jaded about the whole collaboration - quick strike - limited edition thing, something new and exciting surfaces to restore my faith. This time it's a hot little 3 way: Nike, Kidrobot and Barney's. Both colorways have a finish that makes them look like they're straight off a vinyl doll. Details after the jump.

Based on the classic 1987 running shoe, Kidrobot and Nike have produced two seperate limited edition Air Max One running shoes in Black/Gold and Pink/Red. Each style was specifically designed to match the exterior of Kidrobot's pink and gold 1986 Maserati Quattroporte III Royale.

Designed by Paul Budnitz & Chad Phillips, both styles feature gum rubber soles and a heat-embossed Kidrobot logo on the heel. Each pair comes in a custom gold and pink drawer-style collector's box and includes a special limited edition mini Kidrobot keychain that matches the shoe!

As if that wasn't enough, each shoe includes one of five blind-chase sockliners packed in an opaque foil Kidrobot-embossed bag. Each customer will get just one of five sockliners created by artists Gary Baseman, Dalek, David Horvath, Huck Gee, or Frank Kozik.

Only 250 pairs of the Black edition and 48 pairs of the Pink edition have been produced.

Black Kidrobot x Nike Air Max One's will be for sale ONLY in Barney's, New York on Febraury 11, 2005. So get up early!

The Pink Kidrobot x Nike Air Max One's are super-limited Quick Strike edition and is "officially" not for sale. The key word here is "officially". If you spot Paul driving around town try banging on the window, he may have a pair in your size hidden in the trunk.

Everyone's favorite dueling spy duo, Spy vs. Spy, are making their way from the pages of Mad Magazine onto a new limited edition sneaker. Made of premium leather, I especially like the translucent...
