Analog Executive Dashboard by Josh Rubin
Ambient Devices, makers of that great glowing orb thing, have a new device on the market. The Executive Dashboard has swappable analog displays for monitoring everything from the stock market, to the volume of email in your inbox. Other modules include weather reports, traffic updates and meeting reminders-- all at a simple glance. In addition to the charm of providing an analog display to digital information, this thing is beautiful and useful.
Thanks, Matt!

Shredding Scissors
With the rise in identity theft and the unrelenting solicitation from credit card companies it makes sense to shred all of the offers that hit your mailbox. Power shredders don't make the cut for the most attractive items in the house (there's an opportunity), take up a lot of space, and use electricity. These Japanese shredding scissors provide an inexspensive (under $20) and green...

Lovely Address File
As the modern world speeds towards complete digital integration, we're silently mourning the fact that some of life's simplest pleasures are thrown out the window in the name of progress. Just last week, our copy of The Sunday Times was pointed out as "analog chic," and even the post lady scoffed at my request to buy stamps for my paper correspondences. If you're as...

The Cubes
The idea of working in a cubicle scares the pants off me. Maybe it's not as bad as it seems. It pays the bills right? Well, here are The Cubes. There are four cubical sets. Each containing its own little worker bee, three full walls, one half wall, computer, desk, (whatever else goes in one of those prisons) and even a sticker so that...

Digisette
Digisette DUO eCassette is an elegant solution to a diminishing problem. For those who still keep a second residence in the analog world, this digital storage device plays when you insert it in any cassette deck. You can use flash memory cards to add to the built in 96MB of storage and it works as a stand alone digital music player, as well....

Muji Chronotebook
My favorite design from last year's Muji awards is the Chronotebook, a simple but effective daily planner. Rather than the standard columns, lines or grids, each page has an analog clock graphic. With time as the central structuring element, this daily planner is more flexible and helps with accomplishing tasks in a timely manner. Beige, minimal, with rounded corners and just small enough to...

Norman Foster Desk Accessories
Although it's been out for a decade, the Foster Series of desk accessories for the German office brand Helit hasn't aged a day. Unless you work for Hearst, or you plan to attend the Summer Olympics in Beijing, your experience of Lord Norman Foster's ingenuity is likely limited to press reviews and the occasional tourist jaunt. Kitting an office desk with these accessories (which,...
