Hara Chair

The bio-energetic Hara chair from Kundilini is a refreshing modern twist. Handmade in lacquered fiberglass, the designers aspired to create an ecstatic product, as well as an aesthetic one. I think they succeeded.

Rescue Rats

An article in the New Scientist reports on a near future rescue innovation: radio controlled rats. The idea is to use cerebral stimulation to assist training rats to seek people smells (or anything else, for that matter). Then the rats are mounted with helmets and backpacks that read and transmit brain waves from the rat to the rescue team. PETA issues aside, this is a pretty good use of a rat.

Baby Politico

by Josh Rubin

Because activism starts early, there's Baby Politico. These onsies and t-shirts are 100% cotton, sweatshop free and American made (sounds like American Apparel to me) and come with a range of important political statements. I'm too young to vote, what's your excuse? is definitely my fav!

Dog Dish

by Josh Rubin

Dog Dish, from Everyday Studio, is a simple yet functional solution for the design sensitive dog owner who wants to go the extra step for his pooch's ergonomic well being. Otis and Logan are stumpy little guys, but for the longer legged dog, it's important to place her food and water dish at a height that doesn't strain her neck. The stainless steel frame is wall mounted so the height can be optimized perfectly for your pet.
