Photo Stamps by Josh Rubin

Following the year and a half old lead from the Dutch, Stamps.com has a new service that allows you to upload a photo and have your own stamps printed. Of course, I had to make stamps of Otis and Logan. Check it out at photo.stamps.com. You pay a premium for the service, though. A sheet of 20 stamps (standard 37 cent rate), after shipping, costs about $20.

Photographer Maarten Wetsema
Dutch photographer Maarten Wetsema (b. 1966) has some of the most fetching canine portraits I've come across. I've been particularly taken with his series on Daan and Jacob (left and right, above), in which the two dogs are photographed on a variety of seating elements against a seamless background. The deadpan of Daan's gaze is priceless, while Jacob looks to be the most cuddly dog...

British Design Classics Stamps
by Laura NeilsonOn 13 January 2009, Britain's Royal Mail service issued a new series of ten stamps celebrating 100 years of quintessentially British design. We love smartly-designed British creations as much as the next Anglophile, but the Royal Mail's latest release has made philatelists out of all of us. Not surprisingly, the Mini and the classic cherry-red K2 telephone booth are part of the collection,...

One of the most engaging exhibits that we saw at the Design Art London fair last month was this Temporary Printing Machine by one of CH's fave interactive design collectives, rAndom International. Art, Design and Technology for Obama
Of the many history-making aspects of Obama's run for President, the art and design that's come out of it isn't insignificant. From the identity of the campaign itself to Shepard Fairey's pioneering grassroots poster, the Obama brand has taken on a life of its own. Naturally, the internet is fertile ground for expressing support and Facebook groups, websites for creating custom logos and even...
