Further Forward Fashion by Josh Rubin

By Justin Bovington The London and Chicago-based design firm Rivers Run Red is busy developing a range of clothing with one of the UK’s top Fashion Designers - Mrs Jones. Not unusual you might say? Well, these clothes are purely virtual; they grace the bodies of personal digital representations (avatars) in computer games and virtual worlds.
It would seem that your real/virtual life’s Brand choice is blurring. Virtual worlds are fast becoming a 3D visual manifestation of the web; wasn’t this what we thought the Internet was going to be 10 years ago? Rivers Run Red has a great showcase virtual world web site called SpaceThinkDream.

While initially it's quite thin, you can spray on more coats making it thicker. The potential is wide for many uses from industrial purposes, medical sectors, and of course fashion applications. It's an open-source, cross-platform tool that allows you to export 3D models as a single Google Earth Placemark (KML) file. The project was inspired by the Open GL extraction utility OGLE (also by Eyebeam), which allows for the capture and re-use of 3D geometry data from 3D graphics applications...
