Jared Buckhiester by Josh Rubin

Jared Buckhiester is an artist who draws, photographs and makes t-shirts. His art tells a dark and homoerotic story of boyhood grapplings with sexuality. While the imagery on the T-shirts is not as explicit, the theme is still there. All designs are printed in limited editions on 100% cotton, hand dyed Ts.
$84 on his site, or at Nom de Guerre in NYC.

Tokyo Art Beat Artist T-Shirts
Attentive readers might remember Tokyo Art Beat when we covered them way back in 2005. For the uninitiated, TAB is a website covering art events, reviews and creative jobs in the Japanese capital. The free service is run as a nonprofit, but occasionally they offer a limited run of exclusive t-shirts designed by local artists. The third edition is currently on sale, and it...

Art Prostitute 6: T-shirt Weekend
A two-day event this September 17 and 18, at Williamsburg gallery Riviera, celebrates Art Prostitute's 6th issue by giving away exclusive tees designed by Los Angeles artist Luke Cheuh to the first 25 purchasers of the book. Printed on Eames paper (inspired by the couple's work and philosophy; check out Eames Office site for a nerdy Rebus if you need to waste some time),...

Tokyo Art Beat Spring Tees
We're always super excited to see Tokyo Art Beat's new limited edition tees, and this spring is no different. As usual, Tokyo Art Beat, the nonprofit website covering art events, reviews and creative jobs in the Japanese capital put out two tees with fresh graphics from the up-and-coming Japanese artist Teppei Kaneuji and American born, Tokyo-based type designer Ian Lynam. (Click on images for...

Holiday Matinee Artist Series T-Shirts for a Cause
Sure I may be a bit biased towards this tee because the art features my dog Branson (named after multimillionaire Richard Branson) and was done by my good buddy Evan at Curse of the Multiples but there's no arguing that the gents over at Holiday Matinee are onto something good. Their current artist series sees monthly releases of some great t-shirts for a great...

Howard Tangye
Clothing designer, artist and teacher Howard Tangye gives us an unusual look at models, likely to inspire allusions to Schiele. The etched lines draw out a specific moment in time and the eyes seem to be sharing a conversation, listening to someone go on. You can almost predict what they are about to say, responding to you with compassion, yet keeping their guard up...

Art, Design and Technology for Obama
Of the many history-making aspects of Obama's run for President, the art and design that's come out of it isn't insignificant. From the identity of the campaign itself to Shepard Fairey's pioneering grassroots poster, the Obama brand has taken on a life of its own. Naturally, the internet is fertile ground for expressing support and Facebook groups, websites for creating custom logos and even...
