Grainbag by Josh Rubin

senescentshamanIndex

Grainbag is a Pittsburgh based on-line gallery featuring a really broad range of contemporary work. Thanks to Apartment Therapy for turning me on to Grainbag and the work of Corey LeChat, who's piece Senescent Shaman is pictured above. Grainbag's unnamed curator also has a great blog that includes some of his/her own photography.

Apartment Therapy, by the way, is a fantastic site for New York apartment dwellers:

Brought to you by the Ryan Brothers, Maxwell and Oliver, ApartmentTherapy.com is a kind of cross between 1010 WINS news radio and a Zagat's furniture store guide for New York apartment dwellers. It exists to inform, amuse, and inspire, and it's updated hourly on weekdays.

Polanoid is trying to build the biggest Polaroid picture collection on the planet by asking instant-picture enthusiasts around the world to register and...
Swipple
The concept behind Swipple is so simple, it makes you wonder why there aren't more sites like it. An online art gallery that exhibits the work of different artists from a wide range of styles, it's easy to navigate, simple to browse, and light on pretension. It lets the art sell itself — just like a good gallery should. There's a Swipple Shop "because...
Vintage Vandals
The Wurst Gallery has an new online exhibition called Vintage Vandals. They asked artists to find a framed piece of artwork at their local thrift shop and turn it into something of their own. It's an interesting mix of work. The piece displayed here is loosely titled "hug more trees" and was created by Andy Sargent. via Wooster Collective...
