AirPort Express and AirTunes by Josh Rubin

Apple has just announced the AirPort Express pocket size WiFi base station. For the traveller, AirPort Express will free you from the uncomfortable hotel room desk that houses the oh so short ethernet cable. For the rest of us, it will (when used with the AirTunes software) allow music to be broadcast from the Mac to any, or many, home stereo systems. So simple. So smart. I love Apple.

Two iPhone Recording Applications
In the race for best iPhone recording application, there are over a dozen contestants but few finalists. After surveying a handful, we're placing Griffin's iTalk and Zarboo's SpeakEasy in the winner's circle. While neither application is flawless, both get kudos for interface design, ease of use and file tagging. Ever since I lost my digital recorder, I've resorted to using my iPhone for interviews and...

Apple TV v2
Adding a few capabilities that help realize its full potential, the newly-launched version of Apple's computer-to-TV entertainment software is a massive improvement over the original. The biggest plus for aesthetes like us is the 1080p output which means you can stream HD movies, TV shows and podcasts (including featured titles like CHV!) with little more than a click in iTunes (TV and movies will...

Macworld 2008
Those of you as obsessed as we are (read: setting up our laptops at the lunch table) already know today's Macworld news—the overall theme of which seemed to be wireless capabilties—but for the rest of you Steve Jobs today announced several new slick Mac products, the most impressive being "the world's thinnest notebook," the MacBook Air (pictured above) and the all-new Time Capsule (pictured...

Eight Favorite iPhone Applications
While Apple will not condone installing third-party applications on an iPhone, we're totally game. The process for doing this has gotten easier and easier, but is still not for the faint-of-heart. And with their recent announcement that there will be official support for third-party Applications in February, it's not too long to wait if you're risk-adverse. For the impatient, we culled our favorites. Once...

Apple x Starbucks: Local Content and Services
More exciting than the new iPods and less frustrating than the iPhone price reduction was the partnership Apple and Starbucks announced yesterday. Buying Starbucks brand music from my iPod / iPhone while waiting for a Cappuccino is nice, but what's inspiring is how the device becomes integrated with the experience in that moment—I want to know what song is playing in the shop so...
