OQO uPC

by Josh Rubin

hardwarebasicscandy

The OQO Model 01 ultra personal computer (uPC) is a fully-functional Windows XP computer. The OQO has a 1GHz processor, a 20GB hard drive, 256MB of RAM, a color transflective display, and integrated wireless, as well as Fire Wire and USB ports. What makes this thing more exciting than other Windows devices is the size and style. It packs all that functionality into a super compact and somewhat stylish package. Skinning the Windows interface to look and feel like a Mac would almost make me want one of these.

Here's a video of it in action.

Thanks, Pete!

LOOP Design

by Josh Rubin

LOOP Design showed their latest and greatest at the annual Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffet-- a benefit for the LA Youth Networks’ homeless teen shelter. Stars come to this buffet of product to shop for a cause. Nicole Ritchis, for example, grabbed the "You Rock" PVC Tote, pictured here.

Led by the creative genius of China Young, LOOP is armed with only impeccable taste and a humble mission: to design products for real, live people-- not focus group or egos. Creating functional, well-designed, smart products with emotion, intelligence and heart is what gets LOOP up in the morning (although coffee helps, too).

check out all of LOOP's latest and greatest in their on-line store.
