Mainstreaming RSS

by Josh Rubin

Most simply stated, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for reading news and information Web sites. You may be reading this right now via RSS, or you may be looking at the actual Web page. For the time being, most people who use RSS do so by putting URLs for feeds in a news reader that allows them to aggregate all the sites they read in one place. And most of these people are pretty techy. In the not too distant future, however, RSS will be relevant to a much broader audience. Robert Scoble, over at Microsoft, is evangelizing the integration of RSS in as many products as possible. He recently wrote an email to help some nay-sayers understand the value proposition of RSS for the more mainstream user.

Sony DSC-T1 vs. DSC-T11

by Josh Rubin

t11vst1_5

I4U has a side by side comparison of Sony's 2 newest slim digital cameras, the DSC-T1 and the DSC-T11. The features, functions and interface are the same. The only difference is the case. The T11 is pearly white and thinner than the silver T1. It's thinner because the sliding lens cover has been removed. As far as I'm concerned, the lens cover is extremely valuable. I keep my T1 in my pocket all the time and the lens cover keeps pocket lint from making its way into my photos.

Antonio Carvalho

by Josh Rubin

character-designs6

The wild illustrations of Antonio Carvalho have recently been featured in Pictoplasma, the character illustration book and Web site. His work is inspired by childhood fantasies of creatures hiding in the refrigerator. I think they're all pretty great, except the clowns. Clowns freak me out. But maybe that's what he's going for. Here Antonio shares a personal statement and some of his more recent work.
