Mini Convertible by Josh Rubin
![]()
Mini has just announced the Cooper Convertible. There are lots of pictures over at Mini2, as well as a copy of the press release. It's pretty cute, but something about the design just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it's the color of the model. When checking out the pictures, be sure to note some of the small, but smart updates to the dash and interior.

Volkswagen CC
A couple of weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to check out the new Volkswagen CC, the German auto maker's foray into the entry-level luxury market. Having been the passionate owner of two Volkwagens already, I was more than thrilled at the prospect of test driving this introduction on the highways and byways of the Windy City. Over the years, Volkswagen had managed to...

Ferrari: Formula Uomo
Soon after a report in the June edition of Wired that talks of spying and sabotage against Ferrari causing a Formula One fiasco, I was understandably a little surprised to be invited to Ferrari's Maranello, Italy headquarters to celebrate the latest installment to Formula Uomo, a program started in 1997 aimed at holistic and continuous improvement of the company. After watching test cars roll...

Freedom Of Creation: The Smallest Show in Milan
The Amsterdam-based design company Freedom Of Creation (FOC) was one of our highlights of last year’s 100% Design Show in London. The beautiful organic forms in their lighting design and their extraordinary rapid manufactured textiles both stood out from the crowd. FOC’s use of the laser sintering process—allowing complex forms to be built up in layers—has now been expanded to a more commercial use...

Rosendahl Ice Scraper
It's about 18˚ Farenheit (-8˚ Celsius) in New York today—those of us who live in areas with cold temperatures, snow and ice storms know how delicate and ineffective most scraper/brushes are. Made of stainless steel and synthetics, the Rosendahl Ice Scraper is designed to remove anything from dew to a layer of hard ice. There is a soft edge for fogged up and frosty...
