Threadless by Josh Rubin

Chicago based Threadless.com is an online, ongoing tee shirt design competition. Each week they choose 4 - 6 of the submitted designs to print and sell on their web site. It's a great way for artists and designers to get their work out there.

Bountee: Direct to Garment Printing for the People
Hailing a brief mention in one of Ami's postings a couple weeks back I decided to find out more about the web based T-shirt company Bountee. With less than a year's uptime, the company's fast becoming a top contender in the online t-shirt industry. Offering pre-designed prints in their gallery which are uploaded and voted on by the online community, as well as the...

Threadless Select: The Future Is Feeling
The latest from Threadless Select, today's release features The Future Is Feeling, a t-shirt and matching headband from Montreal-based artist Neil Doshi. While the regular Threadless shirts rely on the community to vote on the winning submitted designs, the Select shirts are invite only, and bypass the typical Threadless voting process. They hand-pick artists and designers who they think excel in their fields to...

Beautiful Decay Website Redesign and Giveaway
In celebration of their newly redesigned site, Beautiful Decay is giving away a three-pack of tees along with their Archive Book to a few CH readers. We've been fans of their artist series shirts from the beginning and the book showcases many of the artists that have been featured in the magazine, so this is definitely a giveaway not to miss. As far as...

Abercrombie & Fitch, Ralph Lauren, J Crew, Banana Republic, etc. are selling a fabricated-fantasy lifestyle, but IRAK lives the life that they are selling. In 1997 Earsnot started IRAK, a tightly knit shoplifting graffiti crew with about 50 members. Today some of the members include many of downtown New York's art elite. Last December Earsnot launched a website where the crew, “expresses their 2...

Threadless Select
It looks like open-source t-shirt experts Threadless have stepped it up a gear, by introducing three new spin-off brands: TypeTees, Kids! and Select. I'm particularly into the last one, with four of the top designers on the site being asked to come up with slightly more luxurious, and expensive tees. Relatively expensive that is. They're still just $25 each, and the shiny Angels and...

Threadless Sale
Threadless' new "Everyone Is A Designer" tee by Travis Matthew Stearns (pictured) is an appropriate way to announce their latest $10 sale. The pioneers in internet-based democratic design shared only five codes with a select few (including yours truly) that will enable customers to pickup their tees for just $10 each. The only catch is you must buy at least three shirts and this...
