John Langdon by Josh Rubin

While everyone else has been reading the Da Vinci Code, I have been reading Dan Brown's earlier novel Angels and Demons, where Brown first introduces the world to Harvard Symbologist Robert Langdon and his extensive study of the Illuminati.
The book is a phenomenal adventure, challenging the perception of science and religion in a fast paced mind twisting mystery. One of the devices Brown uses to guide and intensify the mystery are ambigrammatic symbols like the one above. An ambigram is a word that reads the same way backwards. In this case, the image of the word Illuminati can be read identically when rotated 180 degrees. There are several more ambigrams in the novel, all the genius of John Langdon.
