New iPod by Josh Rubin

It doesn't take much hunting today to find the news of Apple's new iPods. They are smaller and lighter with more storage space (15 and 30 GB). There's a new dock. And they, as well as the older versions, integrate seamlessly with the new music download service offered via the iTunes upgrade.

The new version of iTunes also includes Rendezvous based music sharing. That means you can store all your music on your iMac in the kitchen, and still listen to them from your Ti book in the study. It not only works, but it's really easy to use.

Mac Rumors has a pretty good overview of how Apple is dealing with all the copyright issues.

iPod Nano
After the news of the ROKR I thought we were done. But then came the Nano. Somewhere between a Shuffle and a Mini, the Nano is thinner than a pencil and doesn't have a hard drive (read: good battery life!). Available in 2GB (500 songs) and 4GB (1,000 songs), it has all the same features as the bigger iPod Photo. At 1.5 oz it's...
Numark iPod DJ Mixer
Like most things associated with the iPod, the prototype for the Numark iPod DJ Mixer is stunning, cutting-edge and beautiful. Revealed at the Musikmesse show in Frankfurt last month, the DJ Mixer enables DJs to mix two iPods simultaneously, taking “spinning discs” to a whole new level. The unit looks like an oversized, enhanced iPod, with scratch pad, fader and pitch controls and the...

This is one of the coolest gizmos to hit the market in a long time – and it couldn’t be easier...
